HULU-Future of T.V.

I love Hulu!! While recently on spring break I used Hulu a lot during down time to catch up on my favorite shows. The quality was great and there wasn’t tons of commercials and advertisements distracting from watching my show.

I think Hulu could be the future of T.V. viewing for many people of my generation. With busy lives and free access to a quality T.V. viewing website, how could one not like it?

I recently read an article on Hulu from BussinessWeek.com entitled, NBC and New’s Corp’s Hulu Is Off To a Strong Start. The article tells of how Hulu is starting to steel You Tube’s thunder and how more people are viewing the Hulu site every day.

“In August, according to Nielsen Online, Hulu exceeded 100 million video
streams for the second month in a row. That puts Hulu a distant second to
YouTube, which had 4.7 billion streams in August.”

Hulu is also becoming very appealing to advertisers because the demographic of viewers are aged 18-44. This segment is willing to spend long periods of time on Hulu watching shows. Hulu also states in the article that they will be able to tell advertisers what type of person is watching their shows without compromising the viewers privacy.

“ Hulu users on average spent 256 minutes in August watching videos, up from 169
minutes in July. That was the longest time spent among all Web brands, according
to Nielsen. "Now that's an engaged viewer," says Robert D'Asaro, a digital
advertising strategist at media-buying firm OMD. Not "somebody bouncing from
clip to clip on YouTube.”

Overall I think Hulu is Awesome and the above quote shows how it will continue to grow as the future of T.V. viewing!
